Snopro 74

Snopro 74

Hi guys.  It was a pleasure to have met you both and to have you at the Nationals in Springfield.  I had a good time at the show and hope to do some shows out your way in the future.  I spoke with Tom Ishe the other night and he told me you guys were building an 81 Cat snopro for you to race.  I would like to see the sled run when you get it done.

Vintage Ride

Vintage Snowmobile Ride

It started as a idea of something to do in the winter of 2008 by myself and a friend on a newer sled to follow with but due to a sudden emergency was put off and until fall of 2009. The idea of riding a 1970 TNT 292 single cylinder from my home north to the Mackinaw bridge some 170 miles away hadn't surfaced again, but with winter upon us again the question kept popping up. Now with some interest from some other old snowmobile crazed friends we decided to give it a try over some weekend this winter.

One off the "Bucket List"

By Bob Weaver

I’ve ridden and raced snowmobiles since 1967 and I’ve been a snowmobile dealer since 1971.  Over the years I’ve been a dealer for Arctic Cat, Ski-Doo, Suzuki, Rupp, Alouette, Chapparell, Polaris and Yamaha.  When I first started out racing on a weekly basis it was in 1971 when I was an Arctic Cat dealer.  My friend and technician, Jay Kormash, would accompany me all over Western New York to all the local races and to Weedsport NY every Thursday night.

The Weekend Project

Thought you might like to know that this is what happens when a couple Polaris guys come and visit for a weekend. ( Jim and Curtis)

We started on her about 5 Friday and we were finished  late Saturday night. The original photo was taken on January 8th as we drove it out of the owners shop.

It is an enduro oval sled which was raced locally here in the Sun Valley area. They ran mostly on mile ovals, 100 laps or so with 3 man teams. The dual tank set up was like the Winnipeg sleds for no refueling.
