2016 Milbank Show and Swap

2016 Milbank,

The Whetstone Valley Snowmobile Club sponsored another great show on June 3-4, 2016. A new addition to this year’s show was a Featured Sleds. The 2016 Featured sleds were any Snowmobiles with metal Flake hoods. They also had a custom class which allowed all brands to show off some metal flake.

Todd Schrupp stated; “When I found out there were 8 campers and trailers at the park Wednesday night I knew that attendance was going to be great.” In fact, they had 46 individuals enter sleds by Saturday morning. That is 11 more than last year! Other than about an hour of rain Friday afternoon those in attendance at the show had good weather although it was breezy.

Once again, Todd was surprised at the number of restored race sleds that were shown. That class had more entries that any of the other classes. 16 total, many with triples. It was Honker city in some areas of the park.

The winner of the People’s Choice Award was Phil Stener with his 1970 SkiDoo Blizzard.

The Best Display Award went to Jessie Babler for his lineup of I-500 race sleds.

Longest Distance Traveled to display a sled went to Randy Martin of South Range WI.

Our 2017 Show will feature sleds with twin headlights in both Original and Restored Classes. And not to leave anyone out will have a Custom Featured class. June 2-3, 2017

2012 Eagle River Reunion

2012 Eagle River Reunion  Show, Swap, and Race

This year at the Reunion the weather played its part to the fullest possible extent. It was absolutely gorgeous. The mornings laid down a little white frost, but the sunny days erased the frost with ease.

Friday night’s show this year included Happy Hour at the Last Lap Saloon, There was grass drag races under the lights and displays of beautifully restored vintage sleds started filling up the Derby Hall. Saturday was a full day of vintage drag racing, swapping and sled showing followed by an awards ceremony and trophy presentation.

By mid morning Saturday the show sleds filled up the Derby Hall with some very nice sleds on display.  The quality of these show sleds continues to amaze those that walk up and down the aisles admiring the sleds on display. Besides the individual show sleds there were several nice complete displays of sleds and memorabilia.

2012 Operation Vintage Pride

2012 Operation Vintage Pride

This year’s show was held in Austin, Mn on September 22, 2012. Free overnight camping was allowed some of the drag races and swappers pulled in on Friday afternoon and evening. This always makes for a fun evening. The profit from this show all goes to care packages to be sent to the troops serving our country and protecting our freedom overseas. All the guys and gals working this show are volunteers and the show just would not happen without all there hard work. The setting at this show is relaxing, informal and a ton of fun for everyone. Watch for more changes to the event next year.

The Operation Vintage Pride group would like to thank all the vendors, swappers, drag races, and the spectators for support the show and our troops overseas.
