The 1969 Ski-Jet
David (of David's Vintage Snowmobile Web Site)

David was one day looking for a Polaris TX on eBay and saw one that was interesting. Looking at the TX in the ebay ad, David noticed an orange sled that at first he could not identify by the decal on the hood.

David thought that he had posted a picture of that sled on his site but he could not remember the name of it so he emailed the seller of the TX on eBay and asked him what it was.

The seller identified it as a 1969 Ski Jet made in Archbald PA, USA. by CMC Corp. David asked if it was for sale as well, and lo and behold it was.

As soon as David checked out the brochure page o0n his web site, he knew that this was a rare sled as all he had was 1 ad from a magazine and nothing more.

The seller told David that he was the second owner. He also told David that the original owner told him the sled was the only snowmobile produced in Pennsylvania. This cannot be confirmed at this time.

The Ski Jet still has the original motor, a Sachs 297cc. The sled seems to be fairly advanced for 1969 as it has an aluminium frame which is still in great shape. It has a flip open hood and an Apex transmission.

Thanks for preserving a rare piece of history David - an congratulations being the first VSCA web site featured sled!

Here's how it arrived at David's Place
David found this rare brochure on the Sk-Jets.
This is Germain, who is doing the restoration.
This spec sheet details the sled and it's features.
